ADBag® Modular Digester

ADBag® is a fully prefabricated anaerobic digestion system developed by Demetra to convert diverse organic wastes into renewable biogas and high-value bio-fertilizer.

44% shorter retention times
3 to 4 weeks of installation
52% more methane than conventional digesters

Technical Overview

Its patented continuous-mixing approach - submersible pumps circulating slurry within a flexible fabric reactor bag - prevents sedimentation and maximizes microbial contact, yielding >50% more methane and 30% shorter retention times versus conventional small-batch digesters.

Key Specifications

Flexible-Bag Reactor & Technical Container

A heavy-duty, plasticized fabric bag houses the anaerobic reaction. A compact container includes submersible pumps, grinding unit, heat control, PLC and optional CHP skid .

Continuous Hydraulic Mixing

Pumps draw slurry from the bag floor, grind solids and re-inject via four equatorial nozzles plus a rotating top sprinkler, creating uniform turbulent flow that prevents crusting and dead zones

Plug-and-Play Installation

Full site commissioning—including bag cradle placement, piping and container setup—completed in 3–4 weeks without heavy civil works .

Modular & Relocatable

Standard bag diameters (12 m ↔ 290 m³, 15 m ↔ 503 m³, 18 m ↔ 765 m³) can be combined or relocated; units disassemble and reassemble with minimal on-site footprint

Remote Service Management

IoT-enabled SCADA with secure VPN access enables real-time monitoring, performance optimization and predictive maintenance from a centralized control center .

Optimized Digestate

Continuous mixing reduces nitrogen in the digestate by 30% relative to traditional systems, lowering runoff risk and broadening agronomic applications.
